Awasu already has some support for working together with a PDA but this is an area that I would really like to explore further. I think there is a lot of scope for using Awasu to monitor channels and then transfer the content to a PDA for reading offline, perhaps while you're on the train to work.
I am not really a PDA kind of guy so I'm looking for suggestions for what sort of features PDA users would like to see in Awasu. I was working with somebody a while back about this but he seems to have lost interest and disappeared. However, he did tell me that even as it stood then, using Awasu as a means of downloading content onto his PDA was significantly better than anything else that was currently out there.
So, if you have any suggestions or something you'd like to see added, add a comment here or send me an email and I'll see what I can do.
This, of course, holds in general: if you have an idea for a feature, I'm very open to suggestions. I've just shipped a special build to somebody who asked if he could use Awasu as his default browser (wow! how's that for a vote of confidence!). You only have to ask!

When you say "working together with a PDA" do you mean you have a version of Awasu that runs on a palm? Ihave a Tungsten C that I carry about the campus rather than a laptop... it has WiFi built in so I can check things easily.
If there were a version that would run on the Palm system, that would be really useful!
Palms and PC's are really different so it wouldn't be possible to have a version of Awasu that runs on a Palm.
But what I had in mind was people running Awasu on their desktop, transferring all the unread stuff to their PDA at the start of day, for example, reading it through the day and then at the end of the day, telling Awasu what items they had read so that it could update itself.
BTW, this last step is currently what's missing. Awasu can already accept this information but I need some way of getting the PDA to provide it.
Hello, all. I'm the one mentioned here who is benefiting from Taka's special default browser build, and would like to publicly give him a well-deserved pat on the back. Although he turned my hope into reality in less than three days, he did so flawlessly. Further, he exceeded the Minimum Support Staff Requirement of merely inquiring into one's system particulars by also courteously ascertaining my level of PC experience. By caring so, he was able to provide me with a set of custom tailored instructions that guaranteed an entirely hassle-free installation. If you as yet have not had the singular pleasure of dealing with the Awasu people, know that you can expect their support to be every bit as excellent as their product.

I'm a big PDA user, and I use AvantGo, but as avantgo has started to charge websites for the privelige of people using AvantGo against their site, I've noticed a trend for large sites like CNN to go off of AvantGo.
Ultimately, I believe RSS feeds and something like Awasu for the PDA could supercede AvantGo completely.
What AvantGo does bring to the PDA is a decent offline/online web content browser.
Soon, most PDAs will have a built-in browser and an app like a moblie RSS viewer can just use the built-in app.
In the near future, you'll see more and more PDAs that are internet connected or easily connected online for content retrieval. I would like to have RSS headlines cached locally, and be able to retrieve content by going online.

This would be great. It should be a little more configurable than "all their unread stuff", though.
I'd like to see a couple of things in my dream integration of Awasu and Palm:
1) Configure individual channels to always sync to Palm (either unread or all items) - default should be 'no sync' so I can only take with me the content I want.
2) Have a "read-me list" like "sync-me" list that I can add individual items to from other feeds without configuring the feed itself. This way, I could take interesting items with me for reading on the Palm later.
3) Syncing back the "this item was read" info to Awasu is essential for smooth co-existence of the two versions of my feeds.
4) I'd also like a "follow-this-up list" in Awasu. What I mean is that when I'm reading an item that I want to do something with (archive, follow a link on or reply to, for example) on the Palm, I could flag it, and when I next synchronize the Palm with the PC, I can have a "Synced To-Do list" (eg. with a filter) that shows all the items I marked on the Palm. A simple flag that adds the item to the list would be enough, no need for flagging for different actions to do.
5) The Palm version should definitely communicate with the browser on the handheld, so that I could open feed item URLs on the go. (This one is not as important as the previous ones to me, but would be really nice to have.)

You can do this already. Create a new report that only includes the channels you want. The best way to do this would be to create a new channel category called "Palm", for example and add the relevant channels to that category. Create a report that includes all channels in the "Palm" category and point Plucker to that report for it to follow the links and download the content.

Yep. One thing I want to do is to have multiple read-me lists. Users will be able to create as many as they want, set up their own hot keys, export the lists to a report, etc.
