Plug in error

Post by prazim » Wed Aug 17, 2005 1:40 pm

I just installed version 2.1.1 of Awasu and the latest Monitor URLs plug in and am getting the following error:
cant' load monitor urls plug in
missing plug in parameter

Thanks for your help,
Sue

When you unzipped it, did you ensure the corresponding (i.e., with the same name) .plugin file is in the same directory as the plug-in itself?

If this is not the problem, please tell me more about the error you get.

Thanks

Allan,
I unzipped the entire plug in to its own folder under app plugins.

Okay, so please tell me more about the error message you get (exact text, plus anything else that might help).

Thanks

What happens if you completely delete, then recreate the channel? Or simply create a new channel using the plug-in?

(Taka, any feedback on the specific error from Awasu's perspective?)

Thanks

Allan,

can't load MonitorURLs plugin.
Missing plug in parameter
c:\program files\awasu\app plugins\url monitor\monitorurls.plugin

I spoke the other day about the difference between application plugins and channel plugins. The AppPlugins directory is for application plugins but UrlMonitor is a channel plugin. Because you've unpacked the zip file in the AppPlugins directory, Awasu is trying to load it at startup as an application plugin and failing because it's not of the correct type.

Move the files you unpacked to another directory (e.g. ChannelPlugins) and Awasu will not try to load them when it starts.

ah! ok, will do. Can i make an enhancement request that in the next version of Awasu we be able to modify the path for the plug in so when newbies make these kinds of mistakes we can easily correct it without having to redo the entire channel?

Thanks!

There is a reason why it is currently not allowed (due to the internal design of Awasu) but I'll see what I can do.
