USB Drive?

Post by Syntoad » Fri Dec 31, 2004 4:42 am

I am trying to run awasu from my usb drive, and I am running into some problems. Has anyone else sucessfully done this? I would just use synchronization, but it's not really an option at places that I can not install software on every computer I sit at.

Ran fine from the USB at work, but when I brought it home, I get the following error:

Code: Select all

Initialization failed.
Cannot load the Search DLL: The specified module cannot be found.

The search.dll is present, and hasn't been moved.
The drive letter also has not changed.

Does awasu install dlls elsewhere from the install directory that I should know about?

I should also mention that I am running the latest beta (2.0.5)

It works fine for me :-)

You can maybe work around this problem by creating a file called GLOBAL.INI in the Awasu installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Awasu) that looks like this:

Code: Select all

Insert the full path to the appropriate files (search.dll and StopWords.txt respectively).

(Sorry for the delay in replying. I wrote this up a few days ago but forgot to post it )

I actually tracked the search dll thing to a problem with my computer. I forget exactly what it was now, I think it had something to do with not updating awasu properly when I updated it to 2.0.5.
