Re: Great!

Free!!! That's hard to beat! Yep! There will be a paid version coming soon that will have a whole bunch of extra features but the free version will always be fully functional and have heaps of stuff in it. I also like the browser panel navigation, auto-expand, auto-hide and summary - it makes it on...

Re: browser navigation

I'll get the latest version. I was lookign for browser buttons so that we can use the preview panel like a browser. Good. You'll find them there Also, it would be useful to have the headlines display the date/time of the news/article. As it is now it is not possible to see when the article was post...

The Plugins Forum

One of the most powerful features of Awasu is its extensibility. You can write small programs (<i>channel plugins</i>) to generate RSS feeds from any data source at all, not just those published by a web site. You can monitor information stored in databases, the status of a running program or perhap...

Re: Single Summary Page of All Unread Items

G'day. My, you are a veritable fount of excellent ideas! I've been tossing around the idea of having a single master summary page for a while now but using it for offline reading is a way cool suggestion! I'll bump it up the to-do list It should be pretty easy to whip together something really basic...

Re: Browser buttons

- previous/next buttons to allow the news panel to go to the previous/next detail page without having to click in the headlines panel (better usability) Yep, this is on the way. There wil be menu options and hotkeys added but I suppose I can put some buttons on as well (I'm not a big mouse person )...

This is odd. Awasu uses IE to display HTML pages but that's it. It doesn't do anything funky with history lists or anything like that. I'll see what I can find. Please let me know if you notice anything else about this problem. [edit] I'm running almost the same setup as you - XP Pro and IE 6.0.2600...

This is weird. No-one has reported anything like this. Someone had a problem with their proxy and there may be similar issues if you are running a firewall (although most people seem to be able to run fine). Have a look at this thread: m Drop me a line at support@awasu.com and I'll try help you sort...

Ah. It is currently not possible to do this. Awasu will always show you everything contained in the feed, highlighting unread items. Feeds are supposed to contain a maximum of 15 items so showing them all is generally not a problem. If other people ask for it, I may add an option to hide items you h...

No worries :-)

I'm using a third party XMLparser and I'm surprised that it doesn't handle it. This will be fixed in the next beta.

[edit]
After poking around a bit in the XML spec, it seems that leading whitespace is not valid. You learn something new every day :-)

Oops. This is a problem with the character encoding the feeds uses. This is related to the language the document is in, special characters, etc. The feed is in windows-1252 (the Windows standard encoding) but the XML parser I'm using doesn't support it by default. Given that Awasu is a Windows app, ...

Re: Awasu fails to load an RSS feed without a useful error m

it would be nice if there was a more detailed error message Sorry for the inconvenience. This is definitely on the to-do list. The problem appears to be caused by the leading whitespace in your feed. I have to head out now and so don't have time to nail this one down exactly just now but try taking...

Re: Notiification balloons refuse to go away

I suspect that I speak for many users when I say that I really don't want to be interrupted by Awasu to hear that it can't access a feed. Yep. Somebody else has already said the same thing and I have already put something in place. Notification balloons can now be in one of three states: enabled, e...
