Re: MAC OS version, Please?

I know some Mac users who have used Parallels (commercial license $79.99 USD) to run Windows apps on a Mac and there's also Wine (free open source).

You might give them a try.

Great point! I've updated the AutoTranslate.xsl file and sent it to Taka for review and if all is well he will update Awasu's wiki with the new version soon.

Fingers crossed...

Re: learning curve

My TiddlyWiki mini-rant I first heard of TiddlyWiki about 1.5 years ago on an IT podcast, where they interviewed Jeremy Ruston, TiddlyWiki's creator. So I tried TiddlyWiki out and I didn't really like it. I think I was skeptical about the HTML file saving over itself ( even though it saves backups ...

Re: learning curve

I'm working on a full Awasu Wiki page for this topic, but I've got 5 Channel Reports I'm trying to add to the wiki first, so in the meantime here's the short story... First if you haven't already done so you should try out TiddlyWiki on its own and see if it's "works for you". Learn how to...

Re: language translation

Kev. Can it be configured so that the 'Items' are actually the URL of the translated item not the original?? Sure, it can. Great idea! I should have thought about that. I've got a couple of other updates to make to the XSLT file as mentioned earlier ( "loop through an array of ProgIDs, trying ...

Re: learning curve

Just a quick update that thanks to the $/openURL Awasu API I'm making progress in getting TiddlyWiki to run within a tab in Awasu. The only problems that I probably won't be able to resolve are the security warnings when you first start TiddlyWiki and another security warning the first time you try ...

Re: learning curve

Not that anybody really cares... but I just figured out how to create a new TiddlyWiki Tiddler ( like a wiki page in a more traditional wiki ) using an Awasu Send to Tool. Note: These are based upon using a HTML Application ( HTA file extension ) for your instance of TiddlyWiki. Using the short 8.3 ...

Re: learning curve

I think the processs goes something like this: ⋅ Close Awasu ⋅ Go to the directory where you installed Awasu, typically: C:\Program Files\Awasu\ ⋅ Run ChannelMaintenance.exe ⋅ In the "Setting" drop down choose "Auto Update Interval" ⋅&...

Re: learning curve

First off, I'll introduce myself. I don't work for Awasu; I'm an Awasu user, like you . I'm pretty knowledgeable but I'm not the official voice of Awasu. The only 3 words across the top of the screen are Edit, View, and Favorites. Pretty sure there was a File, Help, and a Tools option there before, ...

Re: Using the workpads

This software appears to be very complex - and I think I may have bit off more than I can chew. Awasu has a lot of configuration options which may seem overwhelming at first, but luckily you don't have to learn all of them to get useful results. After you use Awasu for awhile you may find that some...

Re: language translation

Thanks for doggedly pursuing this to its resolution. I tested the update this update and it works perfectly! I was worried that Microsoft's update had permantly banned scripting within XSLT, but thankfully that was not the case. Order of setting properties I seem to remember similar situation in Mic...

Re: language translation

I ran a quick test tonight on both of my PCs, Windows XP ( desktop ) and Windows 7 ( laptop ), both have IE8 installed, with every recommended update applied. I downloaded this feed m and saved it to a file so I'd have a consistent "snapshot" to work with. I updated the Prog ID from 4 to 6...

Re: language translation

Wow! You're too fast! Right after I wrote my post and the page refreshed to show the full thread, I noticed that you said that you already changed the version number so I never should have made that post. But I was hurrying off to work and didn't have time to edit it. I just bought a shiny, new lapt...

Re: language translation

Without testing, I'm almost positive that the problem is that my XSLT file was written to use MSXML version 4 which was the version required by Awasu at the time this extension was written. To exasperate the problem, the line of code that instantiates MSXML 4 isn't in a try...catch block so there's ...

Re: Other Ways to get information

And as you know, support for JavaScript user tools is coming Real Soon Now... Glad you mentioned it, so others can get a glimpse into the future. In addition to the upcoming Bookmarklets support in Awasu, the URL and parameter info could also be used to create a Channel Hook to automatically send f...
