Re: Search query help?

Just to be sure, you did check the "Advanced syntax" check box when you created the search channel, right? Also, I noticed your slanted quotation marks in your post. In your actual Awasu query, are your quotes "straight" or “slanted”? And Taka would this make a difference? Micros...

As I mentioned I don't really have a need for this manual rating system, although I think I can see some benefit. So I'm really not asking for this feature, but since you ( Taka ) thought that this was "…an interesting idea" and made the thread sticky, it sounded like it was something you ...

Items not being marked as read

"Initialization failed. You are running Awasu 2.4 but your data files are from 2.3" This problem has happened to a couple of people including myself. The simple fix is documented here: http://www.awasu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7764&highlight=data+files I can't really help you with t...

Rate items/channels for channel sorting and removal

I've been thinking about commenting on this for a while, but I always seem to be too busy to post a reply. Bottom line, I think a manual rating system could be useful, even though I personally do not have an immediate need for it. Channel ratings by rating Channels You could provide the ability to r...

RE: Upgrade to 2.4 from 2.3 did not upgrade the data files

Just in case Taka is still "on the road" and can't answer right away, I'll take a shot at it. I had this problem on my "secondary" PC and someone else did as well, who posted about it here: http://www.awasu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7764&highlight=data+files This easy soluti...

Did you ever try re-enabling script debugging and see any error messages displayed? Does this happen on all feeds or just some? Can you give us the URL of at least one feed that exhibits the problem? If we can duplicate the problem on a second PC then the problem may be malformed feed content. Swapp...

Viewing web pages

Hey Booboo, I work in web development so I'll give you a few things to look at. First off, as Taka has mentioned, any problems that occur with the browser within Awasu are really Internet Explorer problems, unless you are using Firefox, then they are Firefox problems. Like many feed reader programs,...

Upgrade to 2.4 Professional

I successfully upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4 (no "alphas", "betas" or "release candidates" in between). Everything went fine... as expected. :D

I think I can safely speak for the 13,000,000+ people living in Northern California , we're very impressed with Awasu.

Also, on some web pages, I get a debugger window open up which I have to click 'NO' about 6 times on average. Hey Booboo, In Internet Explorer, go to "Tools", "Internet Options", and click on the "Advanced" tab. Under "Browsing", make sure you've got a check ...

Re: channel report consisting of full bodies of news/article

Retrieval of the full text of a web page is something that I wanted in a feed reader, but I couldn’t find anything on the market that supported this feature. Luckily, Awasu has those wonderful Channel Hooks and provides the item(s) URL so that we can retrieve the full text of an web page. Eventually...

Copying an existing .CHANNEL file is a seriously Bad Idea - channels get assigned a unique ID for internal purposes and copying the file will duplicate this ID. That's right, there's the "ChannelGuid" entry that needs to be unique. Ok zakky , scratch that whole "clone channel templat...

Thank you Sensei! There's an old saying about Perl which I think is attributed to Randal L. Schwartz: Making Easy Things Easy and Hard Things Possible That's kind of how I feel about Awasu compared to other feed readers. After I posted my code I thought about another variation that kicks the coolnes...

I did a little Python scripting last night and I think I've got something that may do some of what zakky wants: If you keep your two sets of words/phrases in two seperate ASCII text files this Python script will: 1) OR all of the words/phrases in file #1 together, 2) OR all of the words/phrases in f...
