Re: No need for window inviting upgrade sitting there "forev
Fair answer all of which is totally reasonable including what is said in all of the linked entries embedded beyond that but I do think displaying your balloon for 30 seconds is way over the top. Also USD 35 just to stop that is a bit expensive. Having read your reply and all the links does not persu...

Re: Right click on hot link opens in default browser
kevotheclone, I appreciate your comments and I do not want to sound unappreciative but unfortunately they do not help. From what you say, maybe you are under the impression that I am having difficulty opening a succession of items in Chrome for later reading. I am not - I just wanted to make it eve...

No need for window inviting upgrade sitting there "forever"
I recognise your reasonable intent to promote sales by displaying the box inviting one to upgrade from the free edition when you open Awasu but having it display every time and for a hugely excessive time is very annoying especially on a small screen where everything else becomes virtually unusable ...

Re: Right click on hot link opens in default browser
Obviously, I accept all of your comments in reply even if with reservations. I appreciate that what you can do is somewhat limited by the underlying Windows features you use. However, after reading what you have said, I was in the process of assembling items to try with the workpad again so that I c...

Re: Right click on hot link opens in default browser
But there is a way to do what you want, by using the existing "Add to Awasu workpad" menu item to collect links, then when you're ready to read them, right-click in the Workpad itself and choose "Open all". Your advice to me does not work at all well. I gave myself two weeks to ...

Re: Delayed write failure
Just to let you know. It is over two weeks since I changed ChannelUpdateAgentConcurrency to 1. I have not had a single delayed write failure since, so I think it is your program testing my hardware/operating system to the limit and unlike any other program and/or limitations with my hardwareor theop...

Good luck to you. Now where can I find a manual about Java. (Rhetorical.)

Re: When you say display x items, what actually happens?
That is very helpful and does reduce the guesswork. I have tried several feed readers and never ever had an explanation of this. The reasoning is.. Cannot say I entirely agree, although when I suspect I may have missed stuff I do look back in time exactly as you say. No, mostly I rely upon the fact ...

Re: Right click on hot link opens in default browser
Not sure I understood any of that but I will try and figure it out. If I have one slight criticism of Awasu, it is this: Clearly it is very powerful and flexible but to use more than the minimum of features or tweek them does seem to demand technical skills. I do have some after 40 years in IT but m...

When you say display x items, what actually happens?
I like having a limit of what Awasu displays in each channel because that avoids a huge amount which makes feed reading a nightmare. The Google Reader, for example, shows everything and updates every nanosecond so it seems, so just to select what to read from their constantly updated lists is hard w...

Right click on hot link opens in default browser
Mouse option to right click on hot link opens in default browser in background would be great, enabling one to stack up items there to read later. At the moment on my small screen, so I have room for Awasu, I have to size Google Chrome just to show down to the tabs and drag and drop into it. Hardly ...

Re: Delayed write failure
kevotheclone, thanks for writing again. However, I think I have resolved my problem. I do not have a thoroughly reasoned conclusion but I am prepared to handle this pragmatically. To be honest, I have not really thought through the idea of a RAM disk as my netbook has limited resources and therefore...

Thanks for that. I was not able to edit in any comments, so perhaps one needs to have a separate registration for the Wiki? It would be nice to know how.
Not enamoured with the name as very bland. How about Partial Eclipse?

Re: Delayed write failure
I am quite taken over the time you have been giving me, especially as this appears not to be an Awasu bug but reading between the lines I am not altogether surprised. Of all the free software I use, Awasu stands out a mile as being truly well designed and backed up by excellent help text. And as I s...

I do exactly the same as you even down to using CCleaner!
